HOW THE JEWELRY BEADING BONANZA BEGAN...
Several years ago I attended a waist bead party sponsored by a dear friend. Shortly thereafter we all began chatting about how we could make our own waist beads and gift or even sell a few if we so chose. Well off to the bead bazaars my friends and I ran and shortly thereafter we became official waist bead designers. |
It didn't take long for me to realize that I needed an orange waist bead to rep MS, so off to purchase orange and green beads and baubles I went.
As the beading bonanza continued, I decided to make MS awareness jewelry as a DIY fundraiser and that's how Fundraise SMart with MSart was born! |

Beading proved to be fun and therapeutic as it kept my 'challenged' hands busy. But my dexterity stalled when it was time to secure the intricate clasps. Naturally I asked hubby for assistance. "Babe, can you complete the clasp on this necklace please?"
The first three to four times the response was some semblance of "Sure, fine, no problem sweetie." But one day to my surprise the response was "Sure, I can, but if I'd done it I would've..." Naturally I immediately gave him an opportunity to design one himself. lol lol lol What can I say...the rest is HisStory:

BAMBOO ARTISAN
How It All Began...
BamBoozled by BamBoo started with a walking stick!
MS struck our family, but we remain steadfast in our fight! I knew that one day I might need a walking aid. I also knew that I wouldn't want a generic, store-bout can, so I casually retrieved a stalk of bamboo from our backyard. I asked my husband if he could make me a walking stick, if and when, the need arose. Reluctantly, he said yes, as he hurriedly stored the stalk out of sight.
A few years pass and that fateful day arrived. I was tearful, grateful and blessed, when my loving husband presented me with this magnificent work of art. With his heartfelt creation in hand, I walk with confidence, security and price.
Immediately, the functional, renewable beauty of bamboo took root in our hearts and watered our creativity!
We hope you enjoy the harvest!
Peace & Blessings,
- David & Tracy
